The Bullets came back down to earth with a bump as six-goal striker Chester Ellis led Burnham's spectacular demolition job.
Bullets had been in upbeat mood after chalking up their first League win of the season last week, but there was little they could do this time round against such strong, well organised opponents.
The bumper scoreline was tribute to some fine all-round play, with Ellis just one of the stars in a team that always looked confident on the ball, passed well and showed a killer instinct in front of goal.
Jamie Coulson picked up the man of the match award for the Bullets, never letting his head drop, tackling well and covering plenty of ground in the face of constant pressure from the home side.
Sacha Shadloo showed familiar grit with some uncompromising challenges, and Fin Palethorpe and Will Parsons worked hard in midfield to thwart at least some of the Burnham raids.
But Burnham were never to be denied for long, with 10 goals in the bank by half-time to warm the hearts of the enthusiastic home fans on a witheringly cold, windy morning.
The Bullets at least reduced the tally to nine in the second half, and they battled bravely to the end. They are unlikely to face many more formidable outfits this campaign, and the return of George Jensen and Max Grant will also strengthen the ranks.
Apart from the heroic half dozen from Ellis, other Burnham sharp shooters threatening to wear out the net included Harry Nurcombe (four) and Connor Shingleston (three), while Aaron Hickman and Ben Felana both banged in a brace.
