Boyne Hill Boys U14’s got their season going with a well deserved 3-2 victory over Whitley Panthers in this SCML Division 2 game. However, as usual, the Hill were slow starting and found themselves 1-0 down within the first 5 minutes of the match. A couple of fine saves from Hill’s keeper Danny Varsalona ensured Whitley didn’t add to their good start. Boyne Hill got themselves back into the game when a speculative shot from George Lewis flew into the back of the net from 25 yards out. This seemed to kick start the Hill and they were soon dominating the match and playing their attractive flowing football and it wasn’t long before striker Siwanat Krasaetho put them 2-1 up. The hill’s half time lead could have been bigger as both Siwi and Daniel Molloy had good chances to add to Boyne Hill’s score line. The second half was a tight affair with neither side really dominating or creating a lot of chances, but it was Whitley who drew level at 2-2 halfway through the half. Again, this seemed to wake Boyne Hill up and they deservedly took all 3 points when man of the match Jack Galloway popped up at the far post to score the winning goal after running the length of the pitch to leave the final score 3-2 to Boyne Hill Boys.
