The Hill continued their good form with a second straight victory against Burghfield A in this SCML Division 2 fixture. On a perfect playing surface the Hill were able to pass the ball around well and should have been in front early on as Siwanat Krasaetho burst through the defence on three or four occasions only to find his efforts go narrowly wide or come back off the post. This continued pressure finally told towards the end of the first half when George Forrester ran clear of the Burghfield defence and drilled the ball home to put Boyne Hill 1-0 up. The second half saw more of the same with Krasaetho again going close by once again finding the upright instead of the back of the net. The hill finally stretched their lead with a deserved second goal after George Forrester turned provider with a pinpoint accurate corner that George Lewis coolly tucked away. It was a much stronger performance all round from the Hill and they played as a much tighter unit and, but for a bit more luck and better finishing, they could have and should have romped to a much larger victory. Man of the match this week was Tom Watts who didn’t put a foot wrong all match at the back and won virtually every tackle and 50/50 ball he went for.
